About PACT

The Provo Auxiliary Communications Team (PACT) is a volunteer organization that works alongside local emergency management and public safety agencies during emergencies, major incidents, and community events. Founded in 2025, PACT provides auxiliary communication support when primary systems are overloaded or unavailable.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Provo Auxiliary Communications Team is to strengthen Provo’s preparedness by providing reliable communication during emergencies and community events.


What We Do

  • Emergency Communications
    We provide lines of communication between the community and the Provo Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during incidents.

  • Community & Event Support
    We support communications for public events, including the Provo Half Marathon and the Provo Freedom Festival.

  • Neighborhood Preparedness
    We participate in community preparedness exercises by facilitating communication between residents and local leadership.


Who We Are

The Provo Auxiliary Communications Team consists of local volunteers, many of whom are licensed amateur radio (HAM) operators. PACT members come from diverse professional and technical backgrounds and are united by a shared interest in community service and emergency preparedness.
